Sunday School – Children and Youth
Our regular Sunday school year begins the Sunday after Labor Day and ends the third Sunday in May. All Sunday school classes meet between services. Our classes are as follows:
Preschool and 5K use the Hands-On Curriculum from Group.
Grades 1-6 use PowerXpress Rotation Curriculum from Cokesbury.
7th grade has teacher developed Confirmation preparation curriculum.
8th grade uses Confirmation curriculum that complements what Pastor Brian presents in Confirmation class. Our Confirmation classes have been held on Monday nights (7-8:15 p.m.) generally September through April with the Confirmation service taking place at the end of April.
High School Our Sunday school for the Senior High age youth is geared around taking all they have learned in previous years of Sunday school and applying it to their lives. We have discussion, videos and other activities on topics that pertain to their lives. On the last Sunday of each month we have a Youth Worship service that is planned and led by youth followed by small group discussion. A praise band is also being developed
Adult Sunday School also meets between services on Sunday.
We have a Christmas program in December and have done an Easter Musical in the past.
All of our teachers are volunteers, with most having taught for over 5 years. We are also always open to training new volunteers for this important job.
We have a Computer lab established and maintained by volunteers that greatly enhances our curriculum.
We also have a strong musical element to our Christian Education in that we have a professional music instructor who volunteers her talent to our Preschool through 6th grade classes.
For summer we provide a Summer Sunday School for 3-10 year olds during second service, using our in-house resources. |
